Meet the artists

Ronald Kolodzie
Ronald Kolodzie studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design. He has taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, and Parsons School of Design. He is a recipient of the prestigious Coty Award. He currently teaches at the Southwest Shool of Art and Craft in San Antonio.



Monica Camero
Monica Camero writes: "What inspired this particular image: "Untitled (Horse)", at the time, were children's nursery rhymes; not a particular song or rhyme comes to mind but the images that come to mind when one hears these sort of things. The figure is caught floating and suspended in mid-air while you wonder . . ." Monica teaches at San Antonio College.





Jil Ewing
Jil Ewing has studied at San Antonio College and the University of Texas at Austin. She has studied painting with Alberto Mijangos. Ewing teaches art at the Circle School and the Southwest School of Art & Craft and has taught through the Mobile Arts Program with the Austin Elementary School project.



Vera Smith
Vera Smith is Dutch and grew up in Europe. From childhood she has loved animals. She studied with artists like Jozef Bossaert, Elly Kuipers and G. Bonel. Since making San Antonio her home, this Russian linguist (currently a full-time home schooling mom), has been disheartened by the number of stray and abused (and killed) animals. Helping animals through art is her dream.



Herb Strasser
Herb Strasser is best known for his pencil portraits of sportsmen and their animals. He was born, raised and went to art school in New York. He moved to Dallas working as a graphic designer and art director. Herb retired 32 years ago and began his career in fine arts. His latest one-man show was at the opening of the new wing of the Corpus Christi Museum. His work has been featured in many art auctions and fund raisers.
