When I started SARA 25 years ago, I knew I wanted to help as many animals as possible. The more desperate the situation, the more I felt compelled to do something no matter where that animal might be. I’m proud to say that we have never wavered from that idea of unconditional life.
Our good friend Sandra Richa lives in Beirut, Lebanon and singlehandedly saves all kinds of animals. We work with her to help get those adoptable dogs she rescues into loving homes in the United States. Recently she found this German Shepherd puppy abandoned next to a busy street with no hope, until Sandra came along.
Houston riding in the stroller to the beach in Beirut.
Because Sandra briefly lived in Texas, she named the happy puppy Houston. Despite all this dog has endured, she still loves people and seems to have no emotional scars. Houston and 4 other dogs are now awaiting their trip to SARA in Texas. Meanwhile, they have received veterinary care, neutering and are safe, happy and well-fed.
Sandra takes them to the beautiful beach every day. The soft sand is great for Houston since she has no use of her back legs. She will be fitted for a wheelchair that will allow her the mobility to run and play with the other dogs. Although she will have some challenges, we believe the right person out there will want to give her the loving home she deserves.
Thank you for your support of unconditional life and helping us make our mission real.
