Sponsor an Animal

Our Animals Need You

SARA provides life-long care for hundreds of animals. Most of our “farm animals” will live out the entirety of their lives in the safety of our sanctuary. Often, these animals have suffered abuse and neglect before coming to us and deserve the complete assurance that they will never be subjected to cruelty again.

We work with numerous rescues across the country to provide permanent refuge for dogs and cats deemed “unadoptable” due to behavioral issues: like a history of biting, fear, and aggression. Our motto, Unconditional Life, extends to these dogs and cats a home of their own, where they can live long, happy lives free from the triggering experiences that caused their problems in the first place.

How Your Sponsorship Gift Helps

Caring for animals is expensive. A single dog or cat costs the sanctuary $1,800 per year on average, with costs increasing depending on age and level of health care needs. Supporting larger farm animals like donkeys, horses, cows, and alpacas costs thousands of dollars per year due to the ever-increasing cost of feed and hay, regular hoof maintenance, grooming, and medical care.

While we do not funnel sponsorship dollars to a specific individual animal, your monthly support goes into our operating fund, which helps ensure top-notch care for all of our permanent residents.

Recurring Donations Help Us Even More

A monthly commitment provides a source of revenue we can count on even during times when our donation streams slow and electric bills soar, like during the summer months when we must use more water and air conditioning.
